Sheri
Piano
With over 25 years of teaching experience, Sheri brings extensive knowledge to students of all skill and age levels. Her lessons include a study of proper performance techniques, theory, and music history.
As a member of the National Piano Teacher’s Guild, Sheri offers her students an optional unique opportunity to participate in a yearly judged performance program designed to encourage students to play well and progress to an advanced level. Her students have achieved both National and Diploma programs, two of the Guild’s highest honors.
Sheri studied piano at the University of Houston with Timothy Hester. She finished a minor concentration in voice and performed with the prestigious Concert Chorale. In addition to her teaching career, she performed with the Houston Symphony Chorus from 1996-2005, and has been an active accompanist in the Lamar, Katy, and Fort Bend school districts since 2012. She is currently a staff accompanist with the award-winning Fort Bend Boys Choir of Texas, and also plays for special events such as galas and weddings.
In addition to the Piano Guild, Sheri holds membership in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and Sigma Alpha Iota, the international music fraternity. She volunteers at the Fort Bend Museum in Richmond and enjoys cooking and reading mysteries.
